Erike Souza Martins is not just a name in the Jiu-Jitsu scene — he is a force in constant motion. A black belt, active competitor, respected instructor, and high-level representative of the gentle art, his journey is marked by dedication, perseverance, and a genuine connection to the mats.
THE BEGINNING IN MANAUS: CRADLE OF WARRIORS
Born in Manaus, Erike began his journey at Clube Freitas academy, under the guidance of Master Elias Freitas, father of UFC star Diego Lopes. It was there that he took his first steps in Jiu-Jitsu, developing both his technical foundation and competitive mindset.
From an early age, he showed discipline and a constant desire to improve, which led him to seek new experiences and challenges in other academies and states.
TRANSITIONS: FROM MANAUS TO ALL OF BRAZIL
Driven by the dream of growing in the sport, Erike trained at some of the most renowned centers in the country, including Brazilian Top Team, Dida Jiu-Jitsu, Guigo Jiu-Jitsu, and CT Márcio Rodrigues in Rio de Janeiro.
This phase was marked by intense training, challenging competitions, and full immersion in the highest level of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
MEXICO: INTERNATIONAL EXPANSION
Mexico represented an important chapter in Erike’s career. There, he lived, taught, and developed students who today also stand out in the competitive scene. His work as both a coach and athlete was marked by remarkable results and by leaving a positive legacy in every academy he joined, including Renzo Gracie Acapulco, Top Brother San Luis, and Entram Gym Hermosillo.
Beyond his work on the mats, Erike took part in major international events, including matches broadcast live on UFC Fight Pass.
A JOURNEY INTO PROFESSIONAL MMA
Erike also tested his skills in professional MMA, making his debut with a first-round submission victory, showcasing his versatility and ability to adapt to different combat disciplines.
TRAINING ALONGSIDE LEGENDS
Throughout his journey, he trained with some of the biggest names in the global scene, absorbing knowledge and experience from renowned athletes and instructors.
THE NEW HOME: GRACIE SPORTS USA
Currently, Erike lives in the United States, where he is part of the renowned Gracie Sports USA team in Norwalk, Connecticut, led by Master Márcio Stambowsky — a living legend of the Gracie lineage.
